Time for change at the Emirates.
Kolo Toure remains desperate to leave Arsenal because he is unhappy over his fall-out with teammate William Gallas and the club’s limited transfer budget.
Toure initially asked for a transfer in January after the bust-up with central defensive partner Gallas, and Manchester City are expected to tempt Arsenal with a £10m bid for the Ivory Coast defender later this month.
He looks set to be replaced at the Emirates by Belgium defender Thomas Vermaelen, who claims he will have a medical today (Friday) ahead of his £11m move from Ajax, and Arsene Wenger is also looking at Newcastle’s Sebastien Bassong and Felipe Melo of Fiorentina.

It could be that this summer Arsene Wenger really does some damage in the transfer window as he looks to reverse the sides slipping further behind the title chasers. With that in mind this source suggests that Arsenal are moving in for the kill for three top names that would help fill vulnerable positions in the side.
Defenders Bassong and Vermaelen have been linked with a move to the Emirates for some time and the Ajax man seems very near to making his move to the club and given Newcastle‘s relegation to the Championship it does seem increasingly likely that the impressive young Frenchman could leave St James’ Park.
Felipe Melo’s move to north London is possibly less likely as his form at Fiorentina has been impressive and has helped the Serie A side to a Champions League spot and made him more of a fixture in the Brazilian national team set up.
