Not good news for Gunners fans!
Manchester City will make a £12 million bid for Kolo Touré, the Arsenal centre back, now that the North London club have concluded the signing of Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax.
City tried to sign Touré in January, but while Arsène Wenger was loath to lose the defender in mid-season, the manager has accepted that Touré wants to leave and would rather sell now than lose him for nothing when his contract expires next summer.
With the African Cup of Nations taking place in Angola in January, Wenger is also aware that he would probably lose the Ivory Coast defender for about a month anyway.

Yes Arsenal can be excited and generally happy about the arrival of Thomas Vermaelen, but what they will definitely not be too keen on is what such a signing appears to confirm in relation to the future of stalwart Kolo Toure.
Has Arsene Wenger admitted defeat on the Ivorian’s Gunners future by speedily bringing in the former Ajax captain or is simply gearing up to playing the two of them together in what would be a pretty excellent pairing. Toure has been unhappy with goings on at the club for a while now, that has been almost totally down to his relationship with former skipper William Gallas, who’s craziness has rubbed up many the wrong way.
The hope for all the club’s fans must surely be that it is Gallas who leaves the club and not Kolo, but news of an impending bid from Man City will not be received well by the club’s supporters who realise just how solid and dependable Toure has been since he arrived at the club.
Toure to Man City: Worrying but hopefully Wenger will manage to persuade Kolo to stay.
