La Liga giants decide to make yet another offer apparently!
Javier Mascherano is set to leave Liverpool, with Barcelona preparing a £35million bid.
The Argentine, 25, has told boss Rafael Benitez he needs to leave because his wife, Fernanda, is reluctant to return to England.
However, Fernanda is pregnant, has returned to South America with their daughter Iola and does not want to fly back.
Benitez is understanding but still wants at least £35m for his midfield enforcer.
Mascherano’s agent, Walter Tamer, held talks on Wednesday with Barca general manager Raul Sanlehy and sporting director Txiki Begiristain, who will offer around £20m plus possibly striker Bojan Krkic.

It appears that Barcelona are hell bent on securing the services of battling midfielder Javier Mascherano and no amount of official statements from Liverpool Football Club will prevent them from trying to unsettle the Argentine. There have been some stories claiming that Javier’s missus isn’t happy in England and I don’t know if they are true or not, but the simply fact is that Rafa has made it clear he is not for sale, but now this source comes up with the latest in a long line of deals designed to persuade the boss to give in.
On the face of it, the deal looks decent, but is only worth considering if indeed Mascherano really wants out as there is no point in keeping a player against his will, but surely he doesn’t want to leave the club, does he?
Bojan Krkic is a good young player with a bright future and of course he is a good support striker, something the Anfield outfit would very much like, but they sure as hell won’t agree to a deal that sees one of their most prized possessions leave the club.
His agent has come out in recent weeks giving off signals that really are irritating and seem to make the situation even more strained than it already is, clearly he is looking for this 10% from such a move and that is why agents are pretty much to a man, scum!
Will the former West Ham man still be at the club come the end of August, I think so.
Mascherano to Barcelona in swap deal: Surely Benitez will say thanks but no thanks!
