Arsenal Striker Finally Ends Speculation About His Future!

Good News for Gooners!

Champions League: Arsenal Through To Face United

Robin Van Persie has agreed a new £70,000-a-week contract which will keep him at Arsenal until 2013.

Van Persie, 25, has been stalling on a new offer after expressing his concerns about the team not winning a trophy in the past four seasons. (The Sun)

Now this will come as welcome news to Gunners fans as RVP as been stalling on this new deal for what seems like forever. The Dutchman understandably had some concerns after yet another season ended without the merest sniff of silverware but clearly the excellent striker has been given assurances from Arsene Wenger that the club will be bringing in some new faces to help freshen up and improve the squad.

The recent purchase of Thomas Vermaelen may well have helped bring this long running saga to a satisfactory close and I would expect a couple of more new faces before the new season kicks off.

Supporters of the north London club will be hopeful that the club manages to persuade defender Kolo Toure also commits himself to Arsenal as speculation grows about his potential move to Man City.
