Liverpool Star Talks Himself Nearer to £22m Move: What’s Wrong With Him!

Midfielder has a few unwise words to say about potential move!

The Rumour

Javier Mascherano shopping in Liverpool

Javier Mascherano has added to speculation surrounding his Liverpool future by admitting to being “thankful” of interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
With Real also targeting Xabi Alonso, Liverpool are determined to resist any offers for Argentina midfielder Mascherano, but the former West Ham player continues to court Spain’s big two.
He said: “I am very proud and thankful for the interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid. It’s good for me to have these two teams interested in me.
“Both teams are very important but, at this moment, I think that Barcelona is a little bit better and that’s why they’ve won all that they have.”

The Analysis

In recent days many have considered that talk of a Javier exit are jumping the gun at best and rumour mongering at worst but no one can deny that if the quotes attributed to the Argentine are accurate then they very much undermine his position at the club.

Rafa Benitez no has one hell of a battle to keep hold of his defensive midfielder par excellence and whilst the boss has come out and stated that he wasn’t for sale It’s another matter to stop the Liverpool man from wanting to leave, which would then surely result in the boss having no choice but to get the best price for the player.

If he does indeed want to leave the club to move to Spain then I for one am surprised with this extreme show of disloyalty, fans are no doubt hoping that such statements in the press are pure fabrication because any attempt to claim that the quotes are taken out of context will fall on deaf ears, after all how can these quotes be taken out of context? They clearly display his willingness to court a move from Anfield. Worrying.
