Rafa hopes to snare big name signing!
Benítez’s prospects of following the £17m purchase of Glen Johnson with another big-money signing have increased. Valencia’s David Silva remains a leading target.
Benitez remains keen to sign Valencia forward David Silva, but he may be forced to fund a move for the Spaniard by raising cash through the sale of first-team players.

So now it appears that things have undergone something of a U-Turn at Anfield. Now the club apparently has cash to burn and Rafa is a big admirer of David Silva and even flew to Spain earlier this month in an attempt to woo the Valencia winger.
Having forked out a hefty £17m for Glen Johnson many had believed the club would not have much in the way of cash left in his transfer kitty but the sale of squad players such as Sebastian Leto, Charles Itandje, Andriy Voronin and the seemingly inevitable departure of Alvaro Arbeloa will give the Merseyside some financial clout as they attempt to bring in more big names to the club.
Liverpool appear to be keen to bring in some natural width to the club and if they could beat Real Madrid to the signing of Silva then it would be a massive coup and give the chance an even greater chance of mounting a strong title challenge next season.
