Long term White Hart Lane target is now free to talk turkey!
Lorik Cana has been given permission to leave Marseille according to the club’s sporting director, Jose Anigo.
The Albania international has been linked with English clubs Tottenham and Everton as well as German side Hamburg and is allowed to leave the Stade Velodrome after four years of service.
“It’s not that he’s shown his desire to leave,” Anigo told L’Equipe.
“It’s simply that at a given moment it’s been four years that Lorik has been here and he has the right to want to experience other things.
“Today we’re open to his transfer, if something happens we’ll listen.”

Lorik Cana is one of those oft mentioned transfer targets that seems to come around every month or so but perhaps news that his French employers are ready to cash in on the Albanian international is indeed good news for Spurs boss Harry Redknapp?
The Marseille captain came agonizingly close to helping his side to their first title in almost 20 years and the battling midfielder may well deem this as the right time to move on after four solid seasons at the club and a combined eight seasons in French football.
Quite where the defensive midfielder would fit into Tottenham’s midfield is another matter. Redknapp astutely invested in impressive Wigan man Wilson Palacios for just this type of task so unless Cana is considered for his centre back covering ability, something he has been known to do, this move seems less pressing that before Harry bought the Honduran.
Cana to Spurs: Could be a case of right man wrong time for the Albanian.
