Wenger set to pick yet more young talent for his Emirates squad.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has opened talks for St Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
The Mirror says Wenger had talks with 22-year-old French Under-21 starlet Matuidi yesterday about a £2.5million deal.
But Matuidi goes in as one for the future, with Wenger also trying to sign a senior central midfielder.

Arsene Wenger has been monitoring this young Frenchman for some time and it appears that the move is beginning to take shape and Arsenal could well be lining up another young talent for their ranks. Matuidi is a slightly built defensive midfielder but nonetheless he can battle well and has been driving force at the heart of Saint Etienne for the last two years.
Clearly Arsenal still need to bring in a more experienced customer for the here and now but as always the Gunners boss has an eye to the future but the fans will be hoping that a player such as Felipe Melo or Yaya Toure can be brought in for the new season.
Matuidi to Arsenal: Very likely indeed
