Mr. Ancelotti’s been doing his homework
Adam Johnson is expected to join the exodus from Middlesbrough after emerging as a surprise target for Chelsea.
Mindful of the need for more homegrown players in their Champions League squad, Chelsea believe Johnson could provide useful cover on either flank and are considering a bid of around £8million for the England Under 21 winger.

It seems that the west London club is adopting a new approach to squad building and seem to be buying British this summer. After capturing Ross Turnbull and Daniel Sturridge they appear to now be chasing Boro’s impressive young winger Adam Johnson.
Carlo Ancelotti has clearly been doing his homework because the young Englishman is a player with a bright future and it would be somewhat ironic if he beat Stewart Downing to a Riverside exit given the fact that Downing is hugely overrated whereas Johnson is a player who can actually beat a man.
Johnson to Chelsea: Gareth Southgate won’t want to lose one of his prized assets but many are set to leave and this winger could well be one of the first to go!
