London based trio consider a raid on near neighbours!
The Cottagers have offered Norway international Hangeland a fresh contract which doubles his wages but after seeming to be on the verge of continuing his stay on the banks of the Thames he has yet to put pen to paper.
Tottenham and Arsenal are also interested in the centre-half, who was one of the best central defenders in the Premier League last season and one of the prime reasons Fulham qualified for Europe.
Spurs need a quality reinforcement alongside Michael Dawson in case either Ledley King or Jonathan Woodgate suffer long-term injuries this season while the Gunners also need to strengthen their rearguard after looking soft at the back at times last term.

Brede Hangeland is right to keep his options open and therefore he is thinking twice before committing himself to Fulham but he would do well to remember that it was the west London club who helped him to become something of a household name in top tier football rather than just using the Craven Cottage side as a stepping stone.
All three London clubs mentioned as potential suitors could use some defensive solidity for a myriad of reasons. Arsenal could well lose Kolo Toure and/or William Gallas this summer because of the feud between the two of them. Chelsea won’t end up losing John Terry I am sure of that but could well lose Ricardo Carvalho to Inter Milan which would leave the club a little short of top notch cover. Spurs also need such cover in fact one could argue that the giant Norwegian could get into the White Hart Lane first team right now.
Either way Roy Hodgson will have to get some kind of response from the American born centre back as he won’t want this speculation to disrupt pre-season activities at a club definitely on the up and and up.
Hangeland to leave Fulham: Could well happen but he may well do better to remain a big fish in a relatively small pond.
