Spurs Set for £11m Inter Milan Midfielder Bid

The ‘Special One’ is interested in signing this White Hart Lane star, apparently.

The Rumour

Jose Mourinho is ready to move again Jermaine Jenas after his move for Deco hit the skids.

The INTER MILAN boss wanted to take Chelsea’s Portugal pair Deco and Ricardo Carvalho to the San Siro this summer. But the Special One is baulking at the Blues’ asking price and Tottenham midfielder Jenas, a player he thought about signing in January, is back on his radar.

Mourinho first enquired about Jenas, 26, when Spurs boss Harry Redknapp contacted him over the availability of Ricardo Quaresma. Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is also a fan and has been monitoring his situation and needs a big-name midfielder following Gareth Barry’s departure to Manchester City.

The Analysis

Jermaine Jenas can be a frustrating player to watch. Clearly capable of great things the former Newcastle man does have a habit of turning too many nondescript performances but now it appears that Serie A champions Inter Milan have stepped up their interest in the Tottenham midfielder and It will be interesting to see what happens next.

The 26 year old may feel that a high profile move to Italy may give him an outside chance of being noticed by Fabio Capello and given we are a year away from a World Cup this is clearly a crucial time to stand up and be noticed.

If Harry is interested in Ricardo Quaresma, and for the life of me I don’t understand why as he is a very overrated showpony, then perhaps the clubs could come to some sort of mutually beneficial swap deal?

The Likelihood

Jenas to Inter Milan: Longshot but could happen.
