You just knew it was going to be another link to another striker…
Manchester City will consider a fresh move for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan should they fail to seal a £25m deal for Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Arsenal striker’s representatives have held talks with City but there is still some difference on personal terms. Barcelona are keen also on Forlan but Atletico want around £30m.
City manager Mark Hughes left for the club’s tour of South Africa yesterday and said: ‘We are still in discussions (over Adebayor) and the talks will continue. We have got attacking-minded players but we are looking to bring other players to the club before the transfer window closes.
‘We are also looking to strengthen the defence. Every transfer deal is difficult and has different problems.’

Manchester City seem to be like a 10 year old playing Fifa09, All they want to do is buy strikers. I cant wrap my head around it… Mark Hughes states he is interested in defenders, yet he hasn’t purchased one yet, and on top of that has only purchased one midfielder. Do they really need all the strikers? No! Will that stop them from buying more? Probably not.
I feel that Forlan would do well for any Premier League team looking for his services, even if he did have a bad spell at Manchester United. He has come on leaps and bounds since then and at this moments in time, is very highly rated.
Likeliness: This depends on whether Ade signs or not.
