Only a medical stands in the way of this big money signing
Tottenham are set to complete the £15m signing of Real Madrid misfit Alvaro Negredo.
The 23-year-old scored 21 goals on loan at Almeria last season but is now surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.
Negredo has agreed a four-year deal with Spurs and should complete a medical this weekend.
Sources in Spain claim the deal includes a buy-back option for Madrid next summer, as well as a 10 per cent sell-on fee should he leave after January 2011.

Alvaro Negredo’s excellent season at minnows Almeria seems to have resulted in a dramatic change of fortunes for a player who had previously struggled to make himself known at Real Madrid. This source suggests that a deal is very close to completion and only a medical stands in the way of a big money move to White Hart Lane.
Harry Redknapp’s continuous search for strikers obviously suggests that he is far from happy with the crop of forwards he has at the club so a move was destined to be completed as he looks to offload Darren Bent, Roman Pavyluchenko and possibly even Robbie Keane.
Negredo is a good player with a lot of potential but will he find it easy to adjust to the pace and aggression of the Premier League?
