Emmanuel Adebayor Say’s He Didn’t Join Man City for the Money: Everyone Laughs!

Who do you think you’re kidding!

Adebayor counts his money

“People who think that I have joined City for the money are wrong,” said the former Monaco man, who is reported to have signed a deal worth £150,000 a week.

“If I had made a move for that reason then I would have been playing for Barcelona or Milan last season. They gave me bigger offers than Arsenal did for me to stay.

“I am here because I was impressed by the way the chairman at City spoke to me about the ambition of this club. I want to be part of a club that is aiming to be one of the biggest in the world.” (Official Man City Website)

There would have been few Arsenal players who have derived such hatred as Emmanuel Adebayor, he has even trumped Mathieu Flamini who of course left in a most traitorous of manners, and I am sure I am not alone in wishing that he fails miserably at Man City.

Whilst it may be true that he didn’t join the Eastlands outfit solely for the money, it is undeniable that the only reason he left the Emirates was so that he could get crazy money and he has got his wish but he has no Champions League football to partake in, in fact he doesn’t even have the Europa Cup to battle for.

Surely one or two of their strikers will be miffed by January when they realise the club can’t play every striker they own at the same time. Whilst it makes sense for a club to have a big squad to take into account their European adventures but when the club in question doesn’t have this to deal with, why the need for such a large squad? So that they can rotate in the Carling Cup?

Good luck to City, your welcome to him!
