Man City Up Chelsea Captain Bid to £40m: Will it Work?

Sparky decides to borrow a bit more money from the back of Sheikh Mansour’s sofa!

Premier League: United Win Manchester Derby

Manchester City will make an increased bid for John Terry this week in their relentless pursuit of the Chelsea and England captain.
Undeterred by talk of a complaint to the Premier League over their conduct, they are set to increase the pressure on Stamford Bridge officials to sell by adding to their rejected £32m offer.
Mark Hughes has challenged Terry publicly to take up the ambitious challenge at Eastlands – angering Chelsea – and the club’s super rich owners are thought to be prepared to pay as much as £40m. (Daily Mail)

Even Frank Lampard has claimed to not be sure about his best mates intentions with regards to this ongoing saga and if Fat Frank isn’t sure then I think that Chelsea fans should be very worried indeed! It would take some extreme greed for JT to make such a move but given the wage he is on at present it appears that he is no stranger to that deadly sin.

Fair play to Mark Hughes, he knows he needs top class defenders so why not try to get the very best, even if it looks highly unlikely there is no harm putting the club’s owners to good use. This one could run and run, at least until the Stamford Bridge club caves in and gives the England captain the same wage packet as his best pal, which will then in turn cause Lamps to ask for a little bit more and off we go again!
