The Rumour

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed they’re inviting offers for Philippe Senderos.

Speaking from Arsenal’s tour of Austria about Senderos’s future, manager Wenger said: “He has offers and it is open.

“He has come back here with us still looking for solutions but he is still yet to decide on his future.”

The Analysis

Perhaps calling Philippe Senderos a Donkey is a little unfair but he is certainly the most reliable centre back in the world but has in fairness improved since his initial poor show opening for the Gunners. The big Swiss international was loaned out to AC Milan last term and it was no surprise that his appearances in the first team seemed to coincide with poor results for the San Siro outfit who were looking for some new talent to build on as there aging back four continue to creak.

Wenger seems more than happy to receive offers for the 24 year old who has been valued in the £6m bracket and there may be a few teams who take an interest believing that there is potential there to build on.

Even though Arsenal have some problems at the back, with the likes of Toure, Gallas and Silvestre all not secure in their future’s at the north London club, the boss still doesn’t see a need to keep the former Servette player on the club’s books and that is saying something.

The Likelihood

Senderos to leave Arsenal: The moment a decent offer comes in, he’ll be on his way out.
