Manchester City Try to Appeal to Chelsea Captain’s Greedy Nature: Might Just Work!

John Terry offered an obscene amount of money to make move up north!

Manchester City will make a sensational last-gasp bid to sign John Terry by offering the Chelsea captain £1million a month in wages.
Chelsea are growing in confidence that they can strike a deal to keep their talismanic central defender, but Mark Hughes has been told by City’s owners to land the England captain ‘no matter what it costs’. They would even be prepared to pay £50m to prise him from Chelsea.

Hughes will make his incredible offer in the next 48 hours. City believe Terry can be the cornerstone of their plans to compete with the world’s biggest clubs and Hughes has been left in no doubt by owner Sheik Mansour and chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak that they will provide all the financial backing he needs to break the British transfer record for the second time in a year.
Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich has held talks with Terry in a desperate bid to keep his skipper, who is expected to make a decision by the weekend. But City’s owners have told Hughes to make a signing that will ‘make the world sit up and take notice’. (Daily Mail)

Mark Hughes desperately wants John Terry and appears to be willing to offer a king’s ransom for the England captain, but will it work? Man City have been buying strikers with alarming regularity this summer but obviously realise that defensive solidity is just as key to any chances of success, hence trying to lure the best players to the club in order to give Shay Given a chance of keeping a clean sheet or two next season.

It’s quite an offer that’s been laid on the table for the 28 year old and if anything it will put him in a good bargaining situation with his Stamford Bridge employers and he will surely milk at least a new deal with Chelsea out of this and maybe would consider leaving the club for the big pay out. He strikes me as that kind of character, If he was 100% loyal to the Blues cause he would surely be best placed to simply spell out to the Eastlands side that he is not interested, however he hasn’t appeared to do that so who know’s where this might end.
