Arsenal’s Kolo Toure Will Not Be Lured By Man City’s Money: Good to See a Loyal Footballer!

Good news for all Gunners fans!

Sports - November 03, 2007

Kolo Toure will snub a switch to Manchester City, according to his brother Yaya.
The Arsenal defender is on the big-spending club’s summer shopping list as Mark Hughes attempts to beef up his backline.
Toure’s future at the Gunners is unclear and it has been suggested he would jump at the chance to join City.

But Barcelona midfielder Yaya insists Kolo will not head north because ambitious City are not a big enough club.
‘The most important thing for my brother is that he can play with a big team,’ he told the London Evening Standard. ‘Arsenal play great football and City are not there yet.
‘They have a lot of money and are ready to buy everyone but it is difficult for them because the kind of players they want are already at big clubs and some people don’t want to take a step down.

‘I think he is happy there because I have spoken to him and he says he likes the way Arsenal play football and he gets on with everyone there. He may have had one or two problems there but I think he will stay.’ (Daily Mail)

Now this is good news and hopefully Kolo’s younger brother isn’t jumping the gun with this news but if you’re going to get a scoop there would be few people better placed than the Gunners centre back’s own flesh and blood!

I have to say I have been quite disgusted at how some millionaire footballers have so easily upped sticks and left for Eastlands. Gareth Barry claimed he would only leave Villa for the Champions League football and then joined a club who finished 12 points behind Aston Villa last term. Carlos Tevez left United claiming they didn’t do enough to keep him, which was essentially bullshit, god knows who will follow. I am hugely satisfied that Emmanuel Ade-pay-me-more left the club and he will love it on the Man City bench!

Kudos of Kolo for not being drawn by the megabucks and I can only hope that he manages to settle at the club after a difficult year, clearly his life would be made a lot easier if Arsene Wenger can get shot of nut-case Gallas!
