Well worth considering!
CITY are poised to trim their top-heavy squad by moving on midfield star Elano and strikers Benjani and Valeri Bojinov.
City sources have revealed there has been interest from several clubs in Elano, and reports from Italy suggest that AC Milan have had an initial offer for the Brazil international turned down.
The 28-year-old joined the Blues from Shakhtar Donetsk two years ago.
But after making a great start to his Eastlands career, his initial impact lessened.
Last season he clashed with Mark Hughes after criticising the manager in a radio interview, and he was left out of City’s pre-season trip to South Africa. (Manchester Evening News)
Rafa has done wonders by converting Dirk Kuyt from single minded striker to hard working industrious right winger but perhaps he may be called upon more frequently in the coming season to help out alongside El Nino and what Rafa could really do with is an adaptable attacker who can fulfill many roles well and that is where a player like Elano could very easily fit in either as a wide man or directly in the hole behind Fernando Torres.
I am a little surprised to hear that Man City are keen to offload the 28 year old and that decision has to be entirely down to off field issues as the former Shakhtar man has been pretty impressive for the Eastlands side during his two seasons at the club.
The diminutive Brazilian has the ability to turn a game on its head from next to nothing and even when sidelined by Mark Hughes he has still consistently maintained his presence in the national team set up and would surely like a chance to stick it out in the Premier League and maybe the Liverpool boss would do well to put in a sneaky bid?
