No it’s not a trick question and it may not be as easy a conundrum to solve as you may at first think.
Harry Redknapp is not a Darren Bent fan, he made that clear by stating rather disparigingly that one of the striker’s misses could have been converted by his wife, and who knows maybe he’s right but was he to quick to ostracize the former Charlton man?
Peter Crouch is a player I admire and I firmly believe he will be a big hit at White Hart Lane but is there really an ocean between the two England international’s in terms of class and quality?
Let’s look at the cold hard facts and compare the two striker’s performances in the Premier League.
Darren Bent’s top tier stats are 102 starts, 31 sub appearances and 50 goals
Peter Crouch’s top tier stats read 122 starts, 56 sub appearances and 49 goals.
Now clearly Bent’s record is superior and add into the mix that a large portion of his goals were at relegation threatened Charlton and are surely therefore harder earned?
Anyway over to you to make your decision on the matter!
