Admirers circle over Lazio man.
Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has admitted he is a fan of Lazio striker Goran Pandev.
But the Nerazzurri chief said the club were yet to make a move for the Macedonia international.
Pandev is out-of-favour at the Stadio Olimpico and has not featured since he made it clear over the summer he wanted a move elsewhere.
“Pandev is a name that I read a lot in the press,” said Moratti on the club’s official website.
“But up to now, I have had no dialogue regarding Pandev with club executives.
“Pandev is a great player and next year I would gladly go and see him play.”
The 26-year-old, whose current deal with the Biancocelesti expires next summer, has been linked with Liverpool as well as Inter.
He scored 15 goals in 37 appearances for Lazio last season. (Eurosport)
Inter’s admission of interest in Macedonian international Goran Pandev could be a very useful bit of news for Rafa Benitez. Our boss is apparently greatly interested in the Lazio forward, who has been a big success in Serie A, and rumour has it that the Liverpool manager sees him as a potential foil for El Nino, and a damned good one at that.
After five years in the Italian capital with a club that has slowly but surely found its way out of the title and Champions League picture, Goran may well feel this is a good time for a new challenge and he may see that at the reigning Italian champions Inter Milan or he could well be drawn by a move to the Premier League.
The £12m attacker is a well built intelligent player who has forged a name for himself as a tireless worker who works well alongside more prolific and dynamic strikers, as he did last term with Mauro Zarate. He would be a good addition to our side in my view.
