Youngster looking for a new beginning.
Adel Taarabt has confirmed he is still hoping to leave Spurs as soon as possible after failing to break into their first team.
The Moroccan playmaker is currently on loan with QPR again and is lighting up the Championship with a number of spectacular goals.
Taarabt remains on a long-term deal at White Hart Lane and believes the North Londoners are keen to take that contract even further.
However, after failing to make an impression on Harry Redknapp’s first team he is not interested in prolonging his Spurs stay.
“Tottenham would like me to sign a new deal with them but, frankly, I don’t fancy going back there now,” he told the Evening Gazette.
“I’ve got two-and-a-half years left with them, but I hope to leave soon.” (Sky Sports)
When Adel first arrived at White Hart Lane he was a breath of fresh air and his cameo appearances, most notably against West Ham and Chelsea, led many to believe he would be a big success at the club. However things never really got going for the Moroccan as his form dipped and it became increasingly obvious he wasn’t able to make an impact when playing a full 90 minutes.
His stuttering time at the club was eased with his loan spells at QPR at the tail end of last season and more effectively this term. He has been integral to Jim Magilton’s sides climb up the table and his wonderful goals have made him something of a cult figure at Loftus Road.
It seems that Harry Redknapp doesn’t see the attacker as part of his immediate plans but he will have been impressed nonetheless with his efforts in the Championship and the former Lens man is still just 20 so it would be interesting to see who makes the next move.
Adel seems to be suggesting in this source that he has no plans to stay at Tottenham but if he was given a decent crack of the whip perhaps he would welcome a chance to prove himself. Meanwhile he can continue to work his magic at QPR which will help his chances of a recall to White Hart Lane as well as getting attention from potential suitors.
