Arsene Wenger willing to allow his teenager prodigy to learn the ropes as a Claret.
Burnley remain interested in Jack Wilshere but expect competition for the Arsenal starlet’s signature.
Clarets manager Owen Coyle confirmed before Christmas that he was looking to bring in the teenage midfielder on loan.
Talks have taken place between the two clubs and Burnley assistant boss Sandy Stewart is hopeful a deal can be pushed through.
Stewart accepts that a number of other clubs are also chasing Wilshere but feels a switch to Turf Moor would be good for his development.
“As of yet there is no progress,” Stewart said on Burnley’s official website.
“Jack is a player we have earmarked and we think could do very well for Burnley.
“His style of football blends in with our style of play, so he is one we would definitely like.
“There has been dialogue between ourselves and Arsenal, but as I understand it there are another couple of interested parties, so we will have to wait and see.” (Sky Sports)
This appears to be a good deal all round. Arsenal clearly have an incredible talent in the shape of teenage midfielder Jack Wilshere but can’t give England Under 21 international a regular run in his in form side. Burnley are obviously very keen to get their hands on such a wonderful player as the pint sized 18 year old and getting him on loan for the rest of the season will do them a world of good.
The Emirates outfit have so many quality youngsters coming through that it is imperative that they give their starlets a good grounding in senior football and Arsene Wenger has become an expert in loaning out talents so as to get them up to speed in the domestic game.
The Gunners have a great deal of midfield talent to call upon and can afford to allow Jack Wilshere to try his hand at Turf Moor and Arsenal can of course call him back from Owen Coyle’s side should they become inundated with injuries. The north London side are battling on multiple fronts but have enough strength in depth to deal with such a deal.
