Arsene Wenger looks to bring in new goalscoring talent to the Emirates.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a swoop for 6′ 6″ Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traore to bolster his injury-hit forward line.
Wenger is without Dutch ace Robin Van Persie and Danish forward Nicklas Bendtner and has all but admitted he is on the hunt for a target man in the January transfer window.
Traore fits the bill and the 19-year-old CFR Cluj striker has already spoken about a potential “dream move” to the Emirates Stadium.
Traore said: “It is sensational to hear Wenger is watching me. I could be a success in England. Even though I am still young, I have a lot of experience and a lot of ambition. Wherever I go it will be hard at first, but I’m sure I would settle in.”
“It would be a dream for me to get to play on a team so great. I have a chance there because Arsene Wenger relies heavily on young players.
“There is great pressure on me now because I am being linked with big European clubs, but this is my ambition.
“The Ivory Coast coach has already told me I will get my chance with the national team, but my chances of that happening would certainly increase if I was to join a big team like Arsenal.” (ESPN)
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been heavily linked in Spain with weighing up a move for Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain.
Wenger is short of options in attack as Robin van Persie is out for most of the season with an ankle injury and the extent of Nicklas Bendtner’s groin problems will not be known until the Denmark striker undergoes a series of tests this week.

It’s no secret that Arsene Wenger has been looking at potential strikers to help the Gunners cope with the loss of long term injury victim Robin Van Persie and it appears that two strikers high up on the Arsenal radar are Gonzalo Higuain and Lacina Traore.
Two front men at opposite ends of the spectrum both have the ability to make it at the Emirates and could well be available for transfer this month. Argentine international Higuain is a world class player who took a while to become a regular member of the first team picture at the Bernabeu and whilst it would be tough for the Arsenal boss to persuade the 22 year old to leave the La Liga giants he may well be keen on a new challenge after three and a half years at the club.
Lacina Traore is a giant of a forward at 6ft 8 inches and has been compared to Emmanuel Adebayor but it very much a striker with potential as opposed to the finished article and at 19 still has a long way to go before he could make it to the first team picture at Arsenal but Wenger may have seen enough to believe the starlet is worth bringing in.
