Go on Rafa, bring him to Anfield, whats the worse that could happen?
Blackburn are in talks with midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen over a new deal at Ewood Park.
Pedersen, 28, has improved dramatically on last season’s form having switched to a central-midfield role in recent weeks.
He has been key to Rovers’ season to date, so much so that they are keen to tie up his services for the foreseeable future.
Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed that the club are in talks with the Norwegian star who he hopes will put pen-to-paper in the not-too-distant future.
“Morten has a deal on the table and his representatives will be over, no doubt, to finalise that deal with the chairman in the next few days or weeks,” said Allardyce.
“We certainly hope he does agree terms and signs on for the next few years.” (Sky Sports)
Not too long ago Morten Gamst Pedersen was a name on everyones lips. The Norwegian was working his magic on the wing for the Ewood Park side and everyone was linked with a move for his services but then injury and poor form seemed to stifle his career but maybe now is the right time for us to bring him to Anfield?
The 28 year old has experienced something of a return to form this term and with his contract set to run out in the summer we could snap him up for nothing. Lets face it as regard to natural width we are certainly lacking alternatives. On the left we have the likes of Albert Rieira, still not convinced he will make it at Liverpool, Yossi Benayoun, works better in a more floating role and Ryan Babel, showing signs of the player we all hoped he would be but still not quite there.
Pedersen is a winger of the old fashioned brigade. He has good pace and can beat a player or two but his real weapon is his crossing ability and his ability to make something out of nothing and weigh in with a good few goals into the bargain.
Rafa has been linked with a move for the former Tromso man before and two or three years ago fees in the region of £10-12m were banded about for Pedersen so I don’t see why he wouldn’t be worth snapping up for free in the summer. Anyone agree?
