Old Trafford set for explosive face off.
Manchester United are boosted by the return of Ryan Giggs, who has missed the last four league games with a broken arm.
Owen Hargreaves featured for the reserves on Thursday but remains some weeks away from a first-team return.
Liverpool winger Albert Riera has been left out of the squad after criticising manager Rafa Benitez.
Martin Skrtel and Fabio Aurelio are both injured, while Alberto Aquilani is struggling with a sickness bug.
Doubtful: Evans (knee), Rafael (calf)
Injured: Anderson (knee), Brown (metatarsal), De Laet (foot), Hargreaves (fitness), O’Shea (thigh), Owen (hamstring)
Doubtful: Aquilani (sickness bug)
Injured/unavailable: Aurelio (thigh), Riera (club ban), Skrtel (ankle) (BBC Sport)
Arch Rivals Manchester United and Liverpool face off at Old Trafford in a game that many Anfield supporters would have hoped would be a title race fixture but things haven’t gone very well for Rafa and his squad this term but they have put a decent run of performances together and have triumphed with ease in their past two fixtures and have a mighty good record against Sir Alex Ferguson’s side in recent matches.
Man United need the win to keep pressure on Chelsea and Arsenal and Liverpool need the points to stay in the hunt for a top four finish so this could well turn out to be as much of a blood and thunder encounter as always. Ryan Giggs return will please the home side who will be looking to have as many players available as possible as they continue to fight on multiple fronts.
My Bet of the Day would be on this game having a more than its fair share of cautions and perhaps even another red card. Nemanja Vidic will of course be hoping to avoid an early bath having been sent off on the last three occasions he has taken on the Merseyside outfit. You can get 5/6 on there being more than six cards shown. An outside bet on Giggs to score first may be worth a punt at 17/2.
My Prediction: 1-1 Draw which you can get odds of 6/1 on.
