Sir Alex set to renew Old Trafford chase for La Liga man.
Valencia’s Spanish winger David Silva could be heading to Manchester United , according to a report in The Sun this morning.
In an article linking David Villa with both Manchester City and Chelsea, Geoff Sweet claims Silva will be available and Silva is also available in the summer and “Manchester United are sure to fancy the attacking midfielder, who may fetch up to £20million.”
Valencia have been undergoing financial problems in recent months and it looks likely that both Silva and Villa will leave the Mestalla.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to be in the market for a left winger as an eventual replacement for Ryan Giggs .
Barcelona are also expected to compete with Manchester United for the signing of Silva, Pep Guardiola reportedly believes the Spanish winger could replace Thierry Henry in the left forward position.

Yes there is yet another way for Sir Alex to reinvest the fee the Old Trafford side received from Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo, only of course if the Glazers haven’t blown all that cash as well. There is an argument that Manchester United could do with more creativity to help feed the frontmen, although of late that hasn’t exactly been an issue has it.
David Silva is a class act and is once again being linked to all and sundry as Valencia are again reportedly set to face financial ruin. Ferguson is known to be a fan of the Spanish international and the adaptable attacking midfielder could certainly do a fine job in the Premier League.
Many sources are talking about this bid as being a stone cold certainty and perhaps Man United feel the need to improve their line up but an need to do so will probably depend very much on what they have to show from this term after all we are talking about a club who are handily placed to secure the two biggest trophies available to them.
David Silva can play on either flank and perhaps could be seen as a long term successor to Ryan Giggs and perhaps on the left he would be of more use to Fergie given that Luis Antonio Valencia is doing a fine job on the right. The Spaniard has made noises about being keen on a move to England but expect interest from the likes of Man City and Chelsea to drive the price up a great deal and then its once again down to how much money is left in the Old Trafford coffers thanks to the incompetence of the clubs American owners.
