Fancy a heavyweight Easter weekend in Manchester? Get your tickets here!

This Saturday sees a huge day of heavyweight contests take place in the city of Manchester and there is still time to get your hands on a ticket.

Boxing - David Haye Media Work

To kick things off at lunchtime, there is the trivial matter of the biggest match of the Barclays Premier League season when Chelsea travel to Old Trafford to take on champions Manchester United.

12 goals in two games for the Blues suddenly ensures that this game is a much more difficult proposition for the Red Devils but Sir Alex Ferguson will know that a win would all but seal the title. A win for Chelsea would put them back on top and though they still have some tricky away fixtures to come they will be brimming with confidence if they beat their closest rivals. A draw and Arsenal – written off twice this season already – would be right back in the race.

Across town later in the day there is another clash of the titans as David Haye defends his WBA world heavyweight title against John Ruiz at the MEN Arena.

The smart-mouthed Brit will be fighting in this country for the first time since he took the belt from Nikolay Valuev on points and he is fully expected to make a successful first defence on Saturday night.

His American opponent is not to be underestimated though as he has held the heavyweight title on two occasions and has gone the distance with the likes of Evander Holyfield and Roy Jones Jr. But at 38 years old it remains to be seen whether he has the reflexes to avoid the lightning hand speed of David Haye.

Tickets for the Manchester United v Chelsea game are sold out and you’ve more chance of hitching a ride to the moon than finding a spare ticket for the Theatre of Dreams.

But our friends at tixdaq still have tickets for sale in various parts of the MEN Arena for David Haye vs John Ruiz with tickets from the ludicrously cheap price of £38!

SO, if you’re a Chelsea fan heading up to Manchester for the match and fancy staying over, a United fan wanting a to celebrate the march to another title or you just fancy watching a right old tear up, then go to and get your hands on a ticket.
