Emirates target makes it clear he would welcome Arsenal move.
Arsenal are now in the driving seat to snap up hot prospect Eden Hazard after the Lille starlet announced that he wants a move to either Emirates or Real Madrid but apparently Manuel Pellegrini has not placed him on his summer wish-list, a list that includes mainly established ‘galaticos’ rather than teenagers with great potential.
Former France playmaker Zinedine Zidane said of the young Belgian yesterday: “He can become a great footballer. He is a star of the future.”
And Hazard admits following in Zidane’s footsteps and playing for Madrid is a possibility.
He said: “Such praise makes me very happy, especially from Zidane. If one day I leave Lille, I will go to Real or Arsenal.” (Sporting Life)
The 19 year old attacking midfielder is well and truly on Arsene Wenger’s radar and even though the Gunners have a great many starlets in their squad the Emirates boss is said to be ready to make a summer bid for the 12m rated teenager.
The 19 year old has already been capped 11 times by Belgium and has been a standout player for Lille both in Ligue 1 activity and when on duty in the Europa League where he has netted four times including a goal against Liverpool which probably added a couple more million on his valuation.
Arsenal are in great financial shape and if Wenger fails to end the club’s silverware drought this season then he may well feel duty bound to splash the cash on adding more strength in depth and a move for Eden would be a wise one indeed.
