Whilst it would be over dramatic to claim that Sergio “Kun” Aguero shouldered the hopes of a nation as the hot new Argentine striking sensation it is true that a great deal is expected of the Atletico Madrid both at the forthcoming World Cup and beyond.

Having Diego Maradona as your father in law probably doesn’t help matters but three successful La Liga seasons, where he has netted a highly respectable 65 times, has proven that he does indeed have a great deal of potential that is surely soon to be fully realised.

The 21 year old will be, alongside Carlos Tevez and Gonzalo Higuain, the focal point of the Argentine attack and whilst all eyes will be on Leo Messi it is players like Aguero who will have to do their fair share of finishing off the opposition.
