Arsene Wenger target paves way for Emirates offer.
Long term Arsenal target Loic Remy has reportedly stated that he will not be looking to continue his Nice playing career beyond this current season and has sent out yet another ‘come and get me’ plea in Arsene Wenger’s direction. The Emirates boss is known to be fan of the 22 year old French international and may well deem this as good time to make renewed effort to sign the former Lyon man.
Valued by his club at around £12m the north London side may baulk at investing such funds in a player who as yet has not reached his full potential although he is capped at international level he is unlikely to make the cut for the World Cup in South Africa.
The powerfully built striker has made it abundantly clear he wishes to join the Gunners and is having his best season to date at the struggling Ligue 1 side but has fallen out with a section of the clubs support in recent months and it appears the club feel that the summer is the right time to cash in on their prized effort.
Arsene Wenger is reportedly close to securing the services of Marouane Chamakh but may still want to continue his pursuit of Loic Remy given the recent injury crisis that showed the potential threadbare nature of their attacking options, albeit they still have the likes of Eduardo, Robin Van Persie and rejuvenated Nicklas Bendtner to call upon.
