Brazil have a strong recent history of producing excellent attacking full backs, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Dani Alves instantly spring to mind, and in that same vein Inter Milan’s Maicon is a joy to watch. Clearly as an attacking force the 28 year old right back helps to build attacks and has the ability to put in a good cross as well as occasionally scoring top notch goals. He is also more than capable of doing the dirtier side of his job and knows how to defend when necessary.

Now in his fourth season at the San Siro the former Monaco man has been incredibly successful in Italy, clinching the Serie A title in every season he has represented Inter. He has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League with the likes of Chelsea and Man City taking a keen interest in the Brazilian.

Expect Maicon to be causing defences major headaches at this summer’s World Cup and don’t be surprised if he ends up in any composite teams of the tournament in the right sided defensive role.
