Harry looks to bring in form flair player to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham are reportedly keen on persuading Lyon’s much sought after midfielder Michel Bastos to leave Ligue 1 for a move to White Hart Lane. The 26 year old is apparently very high up on Harry Redknapp’s summer wishlist but any attempts to sign the Brazilian international may well be dented if the north London side can not clinch a Champions League spot this term.
Bastos cost Lyon a hefty £16m in the summer and the former Lille man has not disappointed at the Stade Gerland and has been instrumental in the French sides road to the Champions League semi-finals. The left winger had been targeted by the likes of Real Madrid and Inter Milan before he moved to Lyon and apparently both sides are still big fans so Spurs may not be the only side looking to snap up the flair player.
For some time now Tottenham have supposedly been a side with left sided issues and whilst such a claim seems less valid this term, with the likes of Luka Modric filling in nicely into that role especially earlier in the season, Redknapp may well be looking for a more natural wide player to balance the fantastic efforts on the right from Aaron Lennon.
Some reports have suggested that Bastos may prefer a move to Spain or Italy but he may well change his tune if the White Hart Lane side push on and garner a place in the coveted Champions League next term.
