Clearly John Terry has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late but all the soap opera style gossip and sleaze can not mask the fact that the Chelsea man is one of the best centre backs in the world and a player that Fabio Capello will be depending on to help keep a tight line at the back as well as offering a very real threat at set plays at the other end of the pitch.

The 29 year old has of course lost the captains armband but will still be a very vocal member of England’s World Cup campaign and he will be looking to take his good club form, especially in the domestic league, to South Africa.

His vast experience and his ability to remain cool when under extreme pressure will be invaluable to Fabio and he is sure to be a player most attacking players will wish they didn’t have to grapple with this summer.
