Wenger lines up move to freshen up Emirates back line.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking to sign talented young Torino centre back this summer. With the Gunners looking to freshen up a somewhat aging back line the Emirates manager has been linked with moves for a number of defenders and the Italian Under 21 international is the latest in a long line of targets.
Angelo Ogbonna has struggled long and hard to earn his spot as a regular at the Turin club and last season he impressed many with his mature displays at the club, unfortunately he was the one bright spot as Torino were relegated. However the powerfully built centre back has been solid at the back as he looks to help the side out of Serie B.
Valued at £8m Ogbonna has a number of clubs chasing after his services and should he fail to get his side back into the Italian top flight many believe he will look for a swift exit and Arsenal would surely be a side he would welcome interest from.
Wenger is looking to add a more youthful feel to a defence that 30+ veterans William Gallas, Sol Campbell and Mikel Silvestre as part of his first team plans, so one can see why a young defender would be a high priority for the Frenchman.
