Rafa wants to bring German international to Anfield.
Liverpool are monitoring the future of Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack with a view to pouncing to snap up the soon to be out of contract German international this summer. Carlo Ancelotti has as yet failed to get the 33 year old to agree a new deal to stay at Stamford Bridge once the season comes to a close.
Rafa Benitez has been looking for new signings that will not break the bank and the possibility of getting a players as experienced and talented as Ballack for free will surely be something he will be keen on sealing. Reports have stated that the former Bayern Munich man would look to stay in the Premier League if he couldn’t agree a deal to stay at Chelsea.
The Merseyside outfit is struggling to secure a Champions League spot for next season so may struggle to snap up the level of players they would like and this in turn could make it even harder for Benitez to get his side back into the top four.
It would be a major coup for the Anfield side if they could pull off such a signing and they will face competition for the veteran’s signature. Some sources seem to believe that should Jose Mourinho take Rafa’s job at Liverpool then he too would push to snap up Ballack.
