Emirates boss keen on signing two promising English youngsters.
Arsenal are ready to snap up young English pair Joe Hart and Jack Rodwell this summer. Arsene Wenger is hoping to secure the duo this summer using his large transfer warchest to help bring an end to a five season silverware drought.
The Gunners boss will find it hard to persuade both Roberto Mancini and David Moyes to offload the youngsters and would also have to beat off competition from other interested parties but Wenger is hopeful that his willingness to have faith in youth will help Arsenal win the race for their signatures.
Joe Hart has had a great season on loan at Birmingham and knows that he has his work cut out to unseat Shay Given at Eastlands and wants to become England’s number one so knows he needs to be playing regular first team football. Alex McLeish would like to snap up the Man City keeper but may not be able to stump up the cash for the £10m rated 23 year old.
Wenger also sees Jack Rodwell as the ideal signing to help beef up his midfield but again could find many obstacles to securing the England Under 21 international. The £22m rated teenager has publicly stated his desire to stay at Goodison Park and David Moyes will fight tooth and nail to fight off potential suitors.
However Everton failed to keep the likes of Wayne Rooney and Joleon Lescott when offers from ‘bigger’ sides came in for them and there must be a fear that lightning could strike for a third time.
