Old Trafford boss attempts to lure White Hart Lane pair by offering former Tottenham star in return.
Sir Alex Ferguson will apparently try to lure Tottenham stars Luka Modric and Gareth Bale to Old Trafford by offering former White Hart Lane midfielder Michael Carrick in return. Harry Redknapp is said to be keen on re-signing the former West Ham man but is unlikely to accept a deal that would see two in form north London players move to the Premier League champions.
Carrick left Spurs for a United in July 2006 for a bumper £18m deal and has found his first team chances limited this season and has lost his way in the England set up as a result and could well be tempted by a move back to north London especially if Redknapp secures a Champions League spot for next term.
Welsh international Gareth Bale has been in incredible form since cementing a run in the first team when Benoit Assou Ekotto got himself injured and has excelled in a more advanced role on the left. His performances against Arsenal and Chelsea continue to show just how much potential the 20 year old possesses.
Luka Modric has also been a standout player this season and the Croatian has been linked with moves away from White Hart Lane but has made it abundantly clear how much he loves the club and given the way he has helped Redknapp take a relegation threatened side to the top four in 18 short months, it seems highly unlikely any of Harry’s top stars will want to leave.
