Eastlands boss keen on former Arsenal attacker.
Manchester City are ready to end Alexander Hleb’s Barcelona nightmare by bringing the talented Belarus international to Eastlands. The former Arsenal man has failed to make it at the Nou Camp and is currently enjoying the taste of first team football on loan at Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
Roberto Mancini is looking to bring in new signings in the summer ahead of a planned clearout that could see the likes of Stephen Ireland, Martin Petrov and Shaun Wright-Phillips sold. The 28 year old adaptable midfielder was a big success when at Arsenal and would jump at the chance of a return to the English top tier.
Barcelona are reportedly willing to accept offers in the region of £9m for the player they purchased in July 2008 and are looking for a quick sale so as to help trim their squad of those they deem surplus to requirements. Mancini will apparently face competition for Hleb’s signature from Aston Villa and Sunderland.
