Cash strapped Serie A side Genoa are set to offer Tottenham their highly rated keeper Marco Amelia. The Italian international has been earmarked by Harry Redknapp as a potential back up keeper to keep in form Brazilian Heurelho Gomes on his toes but the White Hart Lane was initially scared off by the valuation placed on the Rome born goalie but could be ready to agree a deal if the price is right.

The 28 year old would be open to a move to the Premier League where he would hope to get more exposure and perhaps unseat Gomes for the number one jersey and believes a move could help move up the Italian national team pecking order.

Genoa are supposedly ready to accept offers in the region of £6m for the player who arrived just last summer as a part of a player swap with Palermo.
