West Ham are looking to capture Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng this summer as the south coast club looks set to lose many of their top earners this summer. Gianfranco Zola is said to be a fan of the former Tottenham man and is hoping to sign the German for a relatively cheap deal as Pompey look to balance their massive debts.

The 23 year old former Hertha Berlin man arrived at Fratton Park for a fee of £4m last August and has shown touches of quality that made him one of the most sought after Bundesliga youngsters some years back. However Portsmouth finds itself unable to deal with a number of the club’s high earning stars and is looking to sell many of its first team squad.

The Hammers hope to be able to net a bargain and will offer around £3m for the central midfielder and it may be an offer Avram Grant’s side has little choice than to take.
