Whilst its true that Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t rate Rafael Van der Vaart all to highly luckily his national team needs him a great deal in order to have a successful World Cup campaign. Criminally underused at the Bernabeu it seems likely the former Ajax and Hamburg will seek a move away from the La Liga giants in order to prevent his career from stuttering any further.

The 27 year old is an excellent link from the midfield to the attack and his ability to hold the ball and make something happen have made him a mainstay in the national set-up. Expect Van der Vaart to be out to prove something to those who doubt him.
