Gunners boss looks to bring battling Brazilian to the Emirates.
Arsenal will this summer seek to finally successfully complete their lengthy chase for Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo. Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of the Brazilian international and had been hoping to secure the 26 year old before he made his move from Fiorentina to Turin last summer.
However Melo hasn’t had a great time at the Serie A side this term and he has reportedly fallen out with some of his teammates as well as caretaker boss Alberto Zaccheroni and is ready to seek an exit from the Old Lady of Italian football.
Wenger has been looking to bring in an experienced defensive midfielder to help provide protection for Gunners skipper Cesc Fabregas and the Emirates boss sees Melo as the ideal man for the job. Juventus has been linked with big money moves in the transfer market and are looking for a high profile boss to takeover from Zaccheroni in the summer but if the club fails to secure a Champions League spot then they could fail to attract big names.
Either way it seems likely the Turin club would accept a bid for Felipe Melo as long as it was in the same region as the £16m they paid Fiorentina for his services a little under a year ago.
