Emirates boss targets Sampdoria striker.
Arsenal are reportedly considering making a bold bid to sign Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini this summer. Emirates boss Arsene Wenger is looking at a range of potential attacking signings as he looks to improve his striking options and has earmarked the in form Italian international as a target.
The 25 year old is having the best season of his career this term and his goals have helped the Genoan side to within grasp of a Champions League spot and this has led to a great deal of interest in the former Fiorentina man.
Pazzini’s performances have seen him force his way into the Italian national team set up and scored on his debut against Montenegro but has otherwise had a pretty mixed start to his international career where in the space of six caps has missed a penalty against Northern Ireland and became the recipient of an unwanted national record of securing the fastest red card in Italian football history after he elbowed Manchester United defender John O’Shea.
Whilst the powerfully built instinctive finisher is by no means a household name he is just the kind of player that Wenger likes to bring in and mould into the finished article so such a move may well become a distinct possibility.
