Old Trafford manager Sir Alex Ferguson ready to spark summer clear out.
Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to stage a mass summer clear out at Old Trafford and has earmarked Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Carrick, Anderson, Ben Foster as the major squad members set to be part of a Manchester United cull. Having seen a three season Premier League reign brought to an end by Chelsea the Scot will look to use the cash from these play sales to fund new signings.
Bulgarian international Berbatov has had a very disappointing season and has become something of a boo boy with the club’s supporters and much like keeper Ben Foster has run out of lives at the club after a series of woeful displays.
The likes of Anderson and Carrick have in the past been very important Man United players in the past but have experienced less than spectacular campaigns and if notable bids come in for either player then Ferguson is reportedly ready to allow both to leave.
With the Old Trafford club in the middle of a big financial crisis they may well have to sell in order to buy even though the Glazers have claimed to be able to back the gruff Scot in the transfer market they may well be merely masking the real level of debt the club is in.
The club could conceivably make up to as much as £50m from these sales and the likes of Michael Owen, Owen Hargreaves and youngsters Daniel Wellbeck and Zoran Tosic could also be on their way out.
