According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are considering an £18 million bid for Seville’s Luis Fabiano , who is expected to be one of the stars of this summer’s World Cup.

The 29 year-old has a year left on his contract and although he has in the past said that he is happy at Seville, the Daily Mail claims that he is now ready for a move. Seville will also be reluctant to see their star man move into the last year of his contract and become available for a potentially knock-down price.

The 6ft striker has an impressive scoring record. Now in his fifth season at Seville, he has scored 17 goals this season, despite suffering niggling injuries and netted 31 times two seasons ago. He is considered Brazil coach Dunga’s first choice striker, ahead of a host of world class talents. Luis Fabiano has scored 25 times in 36 games for Brazil.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is reportedly keen to add a top striker to his squad as Spurs prepare for Champions League football for the first time. Should Luis Fabiano arrive at White Hart Lane, it would almost certainly spell an exit for some of Tottenham’s current strikers. The futures of Robbie Keane , Roman Pavlyuchenko and Eidur Gudjohnsen have all yet to be decided. (IMScouting)

29 year old Brazilian international Luis Fabiano is in the form of his life both for club and country but his future at Sevilla may well be greatly effected by whether they, like Tottenham, nab the fourth spot in La Liga. I would imagine either way the former Porto man may be interested in a move to the Premier League after five seasons at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

Harry Redknapp may well have a few issues with his front line to resolve this summer and a move for Luis Fabiano would be an intelligent one as he has the physical attributes to do well in English football but he is a notoriously hard player to deal with both on and off the field.

A number of other clubs have expressed an interest in the World Cup bound striker and indeed more may crop up depending on what sort of tournament he has. Expect the price tag to increase either way as a result of his involvement in the showpiece tournament.
