West Ham have sacked manager Gianfranco Zola after less than two years in charge at Upton Park.
The former Chelsea player, who had no previous managerial experience at club level, took over from Alan Curbishley in September 2008.
He signed a new four-year deal towards the end of his first term as West Ham finished ninth in the Premier League.
But this season they struggled and ended the season in 17th place, only five points above the relegation zone. (BBC Sport)

Well that is hardly surprising. Its not to say that the Italian deserved to be sacked, because I think he should have been allowed to stay, its just that this was clearly on the cards. A short while ago Zola comically revealed in an interview that knowledge of a West Ham bid for a player was news to him and I think that was the final nail in the coffin.

Do Hammers fans think that Gianfranco has been treated fairly and who would you like to see fill the now vacant position.
