Could former White Hart Lane keeper really be on his way to the Emirates?
Arsenal are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson, according to a report in the People.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has seen both his senior ‘keepers – Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski – struggle for form this season, and is reported to have identified former Tottenham man Robinson as the solution.
Robinson has enjoyed an upsurge in his own form since joining Blackburn in 2008, though was today omitted from Fabio Capello’s provisional England World Cup squad of 30.
Wenger is believed to have had the 30-year-old watched earlier this year, but has also been linked with moves for Lyon’s Hugo Lloris, Fiorentina’s Sebastian Frey, and Manchester City’s Joe Hart. (Goal.com)
Sorry but I just have to take offence at us even being linked with a move for former Tottenham keeper Paul Robinson. However bad Lukasz Fabianski is and however far Manuel Almunia’s form dips I would not want to see the Blackburn Rovers man brought to the Emirates.
There is no doubt that the England international has had a decent season at Ewood Park but that is no excuse for us even considering a move to bring the 30 year old to the club. Hopefully this is just someones idea of a sick joke.
Which keeper would you like us to snap up this summer?
