White Hart Lane boss linked with move to more than capable keeper.
Having already reportedly expressed an interest in fellow England keepers David James and Joe Hart, Harry Redknapp is apparently ready to make a summer move for West Ham goalie Robert Green. The 30 year old former Norwich City man has been at Upton Park since 2006 and hasn’t missed a Premier League match in the past three seasons and is one of the club’s prized assets.
However West Ham co-owner David Sullivan recently stated that every player, bar Scott Parker, at the club was available for the right price and that may well spur Redknapp into action as he looks to bring in a new keeper to keep in form Brazilian Heurelho Gomes on his toes at White Hart Lane.
The £8m rated keeper has been named in Fabio Capello’s World Cup squad and may feel the time is right to leave West Ham after what has been a pretty dismal season. Having seen Gianfranco Zola sacked earlier this week, Green may feel that a move to a club who could offer him Champions League football as too good an opportunity to miss out on.
