Stamford Bridge boss returns to Milan to raid former rivals for talented striker.
Carlo Ancelotti is plotting a summer raid to bring Inter Milan starlet Mario Balotelli to Stamford Bridge. The former AC Milan manager is ready to swoop for the unsettled San Siro star as he looks to freshen up his aging forward line. Jose Mourinho appears to have lost faith in the Italian Under 21 international after a series of bust ups with fellow teammates and after a high profile falling out with a section of the club’s supporters.
The £16m rated attacker can play effectively out wide but is at his most explosive when working as part of a two man strike partnership and given that Chelsea’s top strikers, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, are both 30 years and over and with Daniel Sturridge still very much the unfinished article, a move for the Inter man makes a great deal of sense.
The 19 year old Palermo born forward has started just 17 games in all competitions this term and has predominantly come on from the bench in the Serie A title winning campaign and is apparently set to be allowed to leave the club in the summer. Jose Mourinho may well himself be on his way to the reportedly soon to be vacant Real Madrid position, which could have an impact on whether any deal is done to bring Balotelli to the west London club.
